Rep. Barb Goodwin
District:50A
Party: DFL
Residence: Columbia Heights, MN

Statement from the candidate:
I am running for a third two-year term in the Minnesota House to continue my work on jobs, consumer protections, education, transit and health care. Prioritizing the state budget to reflect the real needs in the state and bringing more openness and accountability to the legislative process are also important to me

Biography:
I serve on Education, Commerce, Economic Development and Tourism Committees. Serving second term. Was Director of House DFL Research for 10 years and as Director of Legislative Services for MAPE for four years. I also worked in children's mental health field. I am 55, married for 34 years and have two adult, married children. I graduated from Hamline University, summa cum laude, in 1985 and prior to that from North Hennepin Community College. I also attended MN Government courses at Humphrey Institute.

During this term, I worked against offshore outsourcing of MN jobs; preventing bullying in schools; accountability in state contracting practices, and protecting consumers from shoddy home construction and repairs.

I enjoy representing the good people of Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop and St. Anthony Village.
