Mindy Greiling
Rep. Mindy Greiling
District:54A
Party: DFL
Residence: Roseville, MN
Web site: www.greiling.org

Statement from the candidate:
Mindy is the ranking member of the House Education Finance Committee where she leads the fight for a quality education for our children and students. Education funding was cut last year for the first time in state history. Because of her record of leadership on this issue, Mindy believes her voice is needed more than ever in supporting the development of our state's greatest natural resource - our children. Our state's fine education system is what draws employers to our state and keeps them here. Mindy is also a leader working for better health care, a cleaner environment, a multi-modal transportation system and removing the influence of special interest monies from governmental decisions.

Biography:
Mindy and her husband, Roger, have lived in District 54A for 33 years and their two children graduated from Roseville Area Schools. Mindy was a teacher for five years, stayed home with her children for ten, and then reyturned to work at the University of Minnesota, working on research studies, before becoming a state legislator. She got her start in politics through the League of Women Voters, serving as president and state board member, and served two terms on the School Board. She was a Girl Scout leader and council board member, and cooperative nursery school and PTA president. Currently she serves on the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Minnesota Board.
