Shelley Madore
Shelley Madore
District: 37A
Party: DFL
Residence: Apple Valley, MN
Web site: www.ElectMadore2004.org

Statement from the candidate:
As your representative, Shelley Madore, candidate for the 37A House Seat, will work hard to bring your concerns and priorities to the State Legislature. She feels that the voices of residents within the district have not been heard because of partisan voting records. Shelley will focus on issues that affect the lives of all Minnesotans, but most importantly the people of her district. Her top priorities will be reducing classroom sizes, increased school funding, healthcare reform and further development of an integrated transportation program.

Shelley expects our legislators to work together to find creative ways to solve problems. Minnesotans are not polarized; they are thoughtful, concerned neighbors and want to work together to solve problems.

Biography:
Shelley and her family have lived in Apple Valley for 13 years. She and her husband, Paul, have two children attending public schools. During the past decade, Shelley has been a dedicated community volunteer.

As a member of several committees with School District 196, Shelley has been involved with Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE), Community Education committees and the Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC). She served for 10 years as a member of the Urban Affairs Committee for the city of Apple Valley. She currently is serving as a Cub Scout Pack Committee Chairperson and served for seven years as a Girl Scout leader. Additionally, Shelley has worked hard to bring more recreational and educational opportunities to the area for families who have a child diagnosed with autism. She has worked to bring local park and recreation departments, area businesses and families together through her work as a family advocate and community activist. Shelley is well known for her monthly community newsletter that highlights these opportunities for families.

Shelley's past work experience includes 10 years in computer system hardware and software integration and management, sales and marketing support and data management fields. She has also worked in the financial, healthcare and weather management industries.
