Statement from the candidate:
Public service has always been a part of my life and I see government as the most effective means to serve the community I love.

Biography:
Kathryn was born to Chuck and Laurie Ness, 30-year residents of Pipestone. Kathryn graduated from Pipestone/Jasper High School and Augsburg College with a degree in History. After graduating from college, Kathryn worked for AmeriCorps, a "domestic PeaceCorps" program aimed at helping the disadvantaged in America. Kathryn has extensive volunteer and leadership experience around the state. She currently serves on the Pipestone Civil War Days Planning Board and the First Congressional District DFL Board of Directors. Today, Kathryn works as a Web page designer and continues to work toward her degree in American Sign Language interpreting.
