Statement from the campaign:
My name is Lori Schmidt and I want to be your state representative in District 19B.

I am a moderate Democrat who wants to return civility and cooperation to our state government. I believe that issues, such as education and transportation, are too important to continue the endless cycle of ineffectiveness in the Legislature year after year. As state legislators, we must work together -- Republicans and Democrats -- and renew our commitment to resolving the real state issues that affect all of us.

Biography:
I graduated Gustavus Adolphus College with a major is psychology and a minor in math. I then went on to become a social worker; helping seniors, disabled adults and protecting our children. I have been working in this field for over 10years. While working, I attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law with the majority of elective courses in taxes, estate planning, and family law. I graduated in 2001. Since that time, I have assisted families in estate planning, tax preparation, and custody issues.

Chris and I have been married for over 10 years. We have two children. Chase is in elementary school and Lexis is in pre-school. My husband is in the Army National Guard and returned in March after serving 8 months overseas.

I have been active in the community of Otsego, where we reside, working with organization and our church.

Our family currently attends Word of Peace Lutheran in Rogers where I teach a Sunday School class.
